What is the Hardware Signer?

Last update - December 5, 2023

The Hardware Signer is a leading security feature in the Braavos Wallet. It provides two-factor authentication (2FA) security by making use of a specialized component called a Hardware Security Module (HSM) or a Trusted Execution Environment (TEE) found in all modern mobile devices.

This feature presents a very strong level of security, as even if a device gets hacked, or the Seed phrase gets stolen, the attacker won’t get access to the keys.

It also provides great UX, as signing a transaction is similar to making payment with Apple/Google Pay.
