What happens if I lose access to my Braavos wallet?

If you lose access to your Braavos wallet, recovery options depend on the type of wallet and security settings you’ve configured:

  • Bitcoin Wallet: You can recover your Bitcoin wallet by reinstalling the Braavos app or extension and importing your 12-word seed phrase. This process restores access to your Bitcoin funds. You can find more info here.
  • Starknet Wallet: Recovery methods vary based on your security settings:
    • Standard Seed Signer: Similar to the Bitcoin wallet, you can recover access by importing your seed phrase.
    • Hardware Signer (2FA): If HWS is enabled, you’ll need to initiate a recovery process that includes a 4-day delay to remove the Hardware Signer and regain full access. You can find more info here.
    • Multi-Owner Account (MOA): If you’ve set up an MOA, other owners in the account can propose and approve a signer change. This allows you to recover access even if you’ve lost your device or signer — as long as the other owner(s) are still available.
