Braavos uses atomiq, a fully trustless swap system, enabling swapping native Bitcoin (both on-chain and Lightning) to and from Starknet. This solution gives users a seamless, secure swapping experience.
Unlike other cross-chain solutions, atomiq offers zero slippage: users receive a binding quote before initiating a swap, so the price they see is exactly what they get.
There is also zero counterparty risk. atomiq uses an escrow system where Starknet tokens are locked in a smart contract vault on Starknet. These tokens can only be unlocked once a valid Bitcoin transaction is completed. That transaction is verified through atomiq’s Bitcoin light client contract on Starknet, which continuously verifies and stores Bitcoin block headers.
What makes atomiq unique is that it’s fully trustless—secured entirely by Bitcoin’s proof-of-work, with no intermediaries or validators involved.
